Logic-board (or some ppl call it motherboard) is the main board of the computer. Very vulnerable to liquid damage. Some models have GPU/CPU issues. Some models have other defects: Broken USB ports. No audio. Fuzzy speaker amps. No backlight on the LCD. Broken headphone jack. Wifi issues. Camera issues. No Power. Not Charging the Battery. No green light. No orange light. No chime. RAM or BIOS beeping and so on.
We would first need to run a free diagnostics on it to let you know how much it would cost to repair it. Then once we get your approval we would start the job. If we cannot repair it, there is no cost. Now, in some rare cases, it may not be repairable and we wont charge and give you a quote for replacement instead and you can choose wether to replace the logic-board at a higher cost or not. Screen replacement is another common repair. Accidents happen. We are humans and we have too many electronics around us. Pets are also nearby. We mostly use new original parts for screen replacement. If used screens are available we would offer them at a lower price to customers that are interested. Most customers go with new original screens however some customers may prefer used screens for many reasons including environmentally friendly reasons. Some third party screens are also offered if new original screens are not available.

SSD / RAM Upgrade
Did you know that most so called "Older" computers are slower because of the technology of the hard drive? This means by upgrading the speed of the hard drive, your computer is going to be much faster. Hard drive technology has always been behind and for example a Macbook Pro A1278 from 2012 which comes with a SATA HARD DRIVE which is the spinning disk technology hard drive, could benefit from SSD Upgrade. Back in time when you bought your Mac, it was very expensive to upgrade to SSD, and thats why Apple didn't put them in devices in the first place. Now, SSDs cost fraction of their original price. Data Recovery
Data could be recovered. However we only charge if successful of recovering the data. We have flat rates for most models, however the newer models are case by case as the hard drives are soldered on the board and we may have to fix the board and bring it to a STATE where we could read the data off of the dead logic-board. This is an added step to professional cleaning. This is used if your logic-board has experienced liquid damage or humadity damage. Turnaround time is usually 1 business day for this service however sometimes we could do this the same day. Ultrasonic cleaning could be done in many ways, we do it differently than other shops.

We do offer Flex Gate repair on most qualifying devices. Please contact us regarding your issue so that we can confirm your issue is actually the flex gate or not. Basically the backlight of LCD Shutsdown (or screen seems to go black) after a certain angle when you open the MacBook. In most cases flex gate repair can fix your issue. OS reinstallation process varies from model to model. Most OS reinstallations can be done the same day, however some models are a bit tricker and may need more time. On T2 equipped devices such as 2018-2020 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, the OS reinstallation may take a longer time. On M1 and M2 model MacBooks, the OS reinstallation could also take a longer time.

We focus on problem solving which requires a lot of creativity. Any one with a lot of practice and skills could replace parts or repair Macbooks. However the right diagnostics is a very important part of the repair. Sometimes devices come to us that have already been in to other shops before we get them and just because the way it has been diagnosed and attempted to repair, the chances of us fixing it becomes lower. We sometimes even surprise the customers when we let them know what is actually wrong with their device compare to what Apple Authorized shops told them. Not to blame other shops for the failure or to accuse them of wrong doing, it is just very hard to diagnose Macbooks in general because of its complexity. That is why it takes a long time to become a good technician. Over the past 12 years, we have seen it all. (and perhaps more to come)
I have started this shop in Montreal after running a successful family shop in Toronto for many years. I decided to move to Montreal, (mainly to make music) but also to pass on my knowledge to other shops and perhaps create specialized jobs here in Montreal and pay my bills as music has been hit hard with COVID.
